Becky Yohe

As a fifth generation Floridian, I was born and raised in Eustis, Florida. Being a small town girl, I began working at my dad’s Stainde Glass/Antique shop at the age of 14. There I was incharge of displaying for the antiques, and would occassionally work on a window or two. Once college hit, I went to Asbury, in Wilmore, Kentucky. There I discovered my growing passion for Art in all it’s forms. After two years, I tranferred to Palm Beach Altantic University, in West Palm Beach, Florida. It was there that I completed my BA in Studio Art and met my husband. I tought Art for grades K-12 Private School for a few years, until our two girls came along. Teaching others is a true passion of mine and I love helping people find their inner-artist.

Cheryl L Haass

I was born in suburban Maryland, near DC, and from the very beginning I liked 2 things: animals and art.  I got into a lot of trouble in grade school for drawing and doodling in my notebooks (and on anything else that was handy!). I took art classes at the Y and even one of those mail-order art courses. I was very fortunate to encounter a phenomenal art teacher in high school, and I learned a great deal from that wonderful man. Like many young people in the seventies, I fiddled around with a variety of occupations for a few years before going on to college and shifting my focus from art back to animals. I became a veterinarian and spent 23 years after graduation taking care of animals in Wisconsin, raising two kids, and doing very little art. Gradually I began to feel the need to create, and began taking painting classes. I was hooked again!Eventually, I left Wisconsin winters behind me and came to South Carolina to begin a new life. The opportunity to produce art and make a living from my art is both stimulating and challenging.  I hope that this adventure will continue for a long time!

I have been studying art since a child. I was nationally recognized by the age of 12 for my art, after winning the The National Junior Duck Stamp, 2 years consecutively. I attended Honors Art classes all through grade school, and further continued my studies as an adult. Art is my passion, making life much brighter and through a different perspective.
